Georgia introduces new charges for the transportation of goods and passengers from January 1

a one-time transportation permit for a foreign carrier carrying out cargo transportation in excess of the established quota will cost 1.5 thousand lari. Thus, Georgia is introducing new fees for more effective control over transportation.

However, it should be noted that these new charges have no effect on intercity passenger and freight transportation before January 1, since they can only be carried out with a permit. It is important to note that passenger transportation by buses and other vehicles with up to 8 seats, as well as minivans with five seats

will be allowed. However, regular passenger transportation within municipalities will be carried out only on strictly established routes.
