Celebrations in honor of Georgian Police Day

This day is celebrated not so long ago, the holiday was established 11 years ago under the head of Mikhail Saakashvili. Previously, local law enforcement officers were honored on the day of veneration of St. George, but the chosen date always created an ambivalent reaction among part of the population.

After the Georgian Dream came to power in 2013, the anniversary day was brought closer to today - May 30, and then it was changed again to the beginning of June. After a series of variations, recently celebrations on this occasion are held on May 31.
