Expansion of the zone of zone-hourly parking in Tbilisi: new opportunities for car owners

The capital of Georgia, Tbilisi, is preparing to expand its zone-hourly parking system, providing car owners with even more amenities. This was announced by Mayor Kakha Kaladze at a meeting of the city government. The launch of new zonal-hourly parking lots is scheduled for October this year and will cover several districts of the city, including Chuguret, Mtatsminda and Vakiysky.

According to the plans, from October 1, the system of zone-hourly parking will start on such streets as Javakhishvili, Ninoshvili, Saarbrucken Square and the adjacent territory in the Chuguret district. In Mtatsminda district, new parking lots will be available on Lapiashvili, Chovelidze, Janashia and neighboring streets. In the Waki area, you will be able to use zonal parking in the vicinity of the Turtle Lake turn.

An important advantage of the new system is the provision of free parking for two vehicles to citizens living within a radius of 100 meters from the parking space or who own real estate in the relevant area. The benefits also apply to people with disabilities, electric car owners and category A taxi drivers. These measures are aimed at increasing the availability of parking for various categories of citizens.

To take advantage of zonal hourly parking, citizens need to download the Tbilisi Parking mobile app, which is available for download in the Play Store or Apple Store. The application offers a convenient map with marked numbers of all zonal parking points, allowing you to quickly and accurately find a free space. The cost of parking is one GEL for each hour of use, however, citizens have the right to park for free for the first 15 minutes at four different locations during the day.

Mayor Kaladze noted that the system of zone-hourly parking is an important component of the city's transport policy and its gradual expansion to all districts and streets is one of the priorities of the city government. New parking lots will provide more opportunities for car owners to find convenient and safe places for their vehicles in a busy urban space.
