Who is entitled to free medicines? An important statement by the Ministry of Health of Georgia

We have before us a very interesting statement from the Ministry of Health of Georgia, which promised free medicines for chronic diseases for citizens. However, in order to receive these medicines, patients should contact their family doctor to make an appropriate request.

It turns out that Georgian pensioners and a certain category of citizens with specific diseases and statuses are entitled to free medicines. Impressive, isn't it?

Interesting facts

  1. In Georgia, about 400 thousand pensioners suffer from various chronic diseases. This project is being implemented within the framework of the universal health care program.
  2. Free medicines will be provided throughout the year.
  3. The program involves financing medicines for the treatment of chronic diseases such as diseases of the cardiovascular system, lungs, thyroid gland, type II diabetes, Parkinson's disease and epilepsy.
  4. Socially unprotected persons with rating points below 100,000, pensioners, veterans, persons with disabilities and residents of territories not controlled by the Georgian authorities (including the districts of Gori, Khashuri, Kaspi, Kareli, Dusheti, Sachkhere, Zugdidi, Mestia, Tsalenjihi) will be able to receive all necessary medicines for free during the year.

Now, in order to receive medicines, patients only need to contact their family doctor. It seems that this is a huge advantage for those who need constant treatment and monitoring. Perhaps we can praise Georgia for creating such a revolutionary program that helps treat and improve the quality of life of its population.
