The Ministry of Health of Georgia, which tirelessly cares about the health of the nation, has introduced a revolutionary reform in the field of oncology. According to this initiative, starting in 2024, every patient with cancer will be able to receive the necessary treatment for free, regardless of their income. This incredible achievement means that no one will now be excluded from the universal health care program.

The Ministry of Health of Georgia has already begun to provide cancer patients with medicines that they need so much. This is great news that gives hope and support to those who are struggling with a serious illness. The purchase of 13 expensive medicines manufactured by a Swiss company has become an integral part of this remarkable initiative.

But that's not all! Last year, the Ministry of Health of Georgia began actively purchasing innovative oncological drugs directly from manufacturers at significantly reduced prices. One of the key agreements was reached with the leading Swiss company Roche. Nevertheless, the Georgian government did not stop there and subsequently concluded an agreement with another Swiss pharmaceutical company Novartis. This means that in the near future, patients will receive eight more types of medicines.

The goal of the Ministry of Health is to provide citizens with high-quality medicines. The priority is the treatment of oncological diseases, and for this purpose such effective drugs as "Kiskali", "Jakavi", "Mekinist", "Votrient", "Afinitor", "Zometa" and "Femara" were provided. This is an unsurpassed support and care for our patients.

This reform in the field of healthcare in Georgia will mark a new era of free access to cancer treatment. By 2024, according to the updated rules, every patient faced with this deadly disease will be able to receive the necessary care in Georgia, regardless of their financial situation. Previously, only those with an annual income of less than 40 thousand lari (15.3 thousand dollars) could receive free treatment. But today we cross this threshold and open the doors of hope to all those in need.
