Kikvidze Park is a small, cosy square in Kutaisi, on Abashidze Street, among residential buildings. There is a fountain in the centre, with children's playgrounds, slides and swings around it, benches and the shade of trees, so it is a handy spot for a walk with children and a calm rest on an ordinary day. Locals come here to sit and catch their breath, and it is pleasant for a visitor to drop by on the way.
The square is named after Vasil (Vaso) Kikvidze, a native of Kutaisi and a hero of the Civil War: he was born here in 1895 and studied at the Kutaisi gymnasium. Entry is free and it is open around the clock, dogs are allowed and there is wheelchair access. The place is quiet, although there is traffic nearby, so do not expect complete silence.
