The church is dedicated to St Evdemoz Diasamidze, a Georgian saint of princely family. Churches of his name are few in the country, and in Adjara this is one of the few.
Keda stands in the gorge of the Adjaristsqali, on the road that leads from Batumi into the mountains. The town is small and the church stands out at once among its buildings. Half a kilometre away the mosque of Gulebi village is in use: in these mountains Orthodox and Muslim neighbours have long lived side by side.
There are no regular services, and visits are arranged on the spot. The usual etiquette applies: covered shoulders and knees, quiet inside.
