The remains of a church lie in the mountains above Kabali, well above the village itself. The walls survive only in part, there is no roof, and the building reads from its foundation amid grass and scrub.
Kabali is a large village of Lagodekhi Municipality, lying about fifteen kilometres southwest of Lagodekhi at some three hundred and thirty metres. The river of the same name rises on the southern slope of the Caucasus and reaches the village out of a gorge. To the north the Kakhetian Caucasus rises with peaks above three kilometres and the border with Dagestan.
Take nothing away from the site, not even small fragments. The site remains part of the everyday life of the area, and that deserves respect.

- Allow no more than half an hour for the visit.
- Bring water, as there are no kiosks nearby.
- Wear shoes with a firm sole.

- Navigate by the coordinates, as there may be no signs on the approach.
- Ask locals for directions, since the short way is not always obvious.
