The Gori synagogue is located in a residential area, and from the outside it looks like an ordinary house: it can be recognized by the metal Star of David above the gate.
The community dates its opening to 1936; an archival registration card from 1944 describes a brick and stone building of 140 square meters, built in 1937. The synagogue is still operating, but the community is small: in the summer of 2021, there were approximately 37 elderly families.
The interior has two levels. The prayer hall and community events space are located upstairs, while the old beit midrash and a small museum section are located downstairs. The matzah bakery and mikveh, now dry, remain. It is not open every day: Fridays and Saturdays are recommended; the rest of the year, the key is usually with a neighbor or the head of the community.
