A town church about which little is known: neither a dedication, nor a second name, nor a date of building has survived. This happens in small towns more often than one would expect: the church lives its parish life, the neighbours know it without qualifiers, and it needs no separate name.
Dusheti sits on the old road from Mtskheta into the mountains, and the town reads in layers: an administrative centre, private yards, churches of different periods. This church stands in the southern part of town, in a residential block off the main street. Further north, also within the town, stands the burial chapel of the Chilashvili nobles.
The parish is active and services follow the church year. Dress modestly, women wear a headscarf; on weekdays the doors may be locked, in which case it is worth asking the neighbours.
