Anaklia Port Under Landlord Model: About $1.1 Billion Planned for Phase One, Launch Targeted for 2029
Anaklia port is planned around a landlord model: the state builds the main infrastructure, while private companies develop and operate terminals. Investor.ge examines the model announced in July.
Government figures cited in the review put the first phase’s funding requirement at about $1.1 billion, comprising $700 million from the state and roughly $400 million from private investors. The planned opening is in 2029, with a target water depth of around 17.5 metres.
The first phase includes up to 700 metres of deepwater container berths and up to 600 metres of berths for dry and bulk cargo. These dimensions describe the infrastructure planned for that phase.
