NBG first deputy governor: Georgia's corporate bond issuance hit a record 1.57 billion lari in 2025
New public corporate bond issuances in Georgia totaled a record 1.57 billion lari in 2025, mostly in the national currency, the first deputy governor of the National Bank of Georgia (NBG) said at "AIFC Connect: Tbilisi 2026", held during the Tbilisi Finance Summit. The Astana International Financial Centre (AIFC) organized the event with the NBG, GFTN and ITS.
Participants discussed deeper financial cooperation between Georgia and Kazakhstan and wider cross-border access to capital markets. A central topic was the Mutual Access and Recognition Project, which aims to build practical mechanisms that make it easier for financial institutions and market participants from AIFC and Georgia to enter each other's markets.
The first deputy governor said that listing Georgian government bond indices on international platforms, including Bloomberg, raises the visibility of Georgian securities for foreign investors. The NBG and the Astana Financial Services Authority had signed a memorandum of understanding earlier, on September 9, 2026.
