Georgia's International Reserves Hit Record of About $8.1 Billion in September 2026
The National Bank of Georgia reported on 14 October that the country's international reserves reached a record level of approximately 8.1 billion US dollars in September 2026. According to the NBG, the impact of global shocks on Georgia has appeared mainly through the inflation channel, so the main goal remains stable inflation expectations.
The central bank is maintaining a tight monetary policy. Future decisions, the statement says, will depend on its assessment of inflation dynamics and expectations. The NBG links the diversification of services exports across sectors and geographic markets to a softer impact from external shocks. The regulator is also assessing how initial price effects may pass into core inflation and services inflation.
