Georgia to allocate the lari equivalent of $1.712m for Eurobond refinancing bank fees

Georgia’s government will allocate the lari equivalent of $1.712 million to the finance ministry to pay international banks for Eurobond refinancing services. The money comes from the government reserve fund established under the 2026 budget law. The decree is dated September 28; BM.GE reported it on October 6.

In spring 2026, the government repaid a $500 million Eurobond early by issuing new debt securities. The allocation covers bank fees for that operation. Participants in the refinancing included Citi, Barclays, JP Morgan, HSBC, ICBC, BofA Securities, BNP Paribas and other international banks.
