NBG modernizes RTGS system and develops instant payment system
The National Bank of Georgia is modernizing its RTGS system and continues to develop an instant payment system. An NBG deputy governor said so on a panel about cross-border payments at the Tbilisi Finance Summit 2026.
She said that expanding trade and economic ties along the Middle Corridor call for faster, more efficient and accessible financial services. Cooperation among central banks and alignment of technical standards are key, she added.
The NBG joined Georgia’s economy ministry and GFTN to organise the summit.
