The church is dedicated to the Apostle Andrew the First-Called. Church tradition holds that he was the first to bring the Christian message to Georgia, and dozens of churches across the country bear his name.
Borjomi is known above all for its mineral water, its park and the cable car, while the town churches stay in the background. Yet it is they that show the everyday side of a spa town: the life that continues once the season ends and the visitors leave. The entrance to Borjomi-Kharagauli National Park is close at hand.
This is an ordinary town parish rather than a museum. It is easier to look in during the first half of the day, dress soberly, and women should bring a headscarf. In the cold season the interior is chilly, so bring something warm.
