According to independent observations, the equipment needs attention: one review mentions panels falling off the cabin, another describes it as outdated and in need of either renovation or full replacement. There's a cafe at the top, but according to several reviews there isn't much genuine variety of activities, and the walking area is partly damaged by cars and 4x4s.
An important, serious safety warning. An independent review directly describes a suspected instance of inappropriate behaviour by an elderly staff member toward visitors — this echoes a similar complaint at the lower station of the same cable car, suggesting a possibly systemic issue rather than an isolated incident. We'd strongly recommend management address this immediately.
A practical alternative for saving money: the local town bus goes up to the plateau for just 0.3-1 GEL, considerably cheaper than the cable car ride.
