A church of the early feudal period stands away from Ratevani, in the middle of an open field. The building is small and has no later additions, so its volume reads as a whole.
Ratevani is part of Bolnisi Municipality in Kvemo Kartli, an area with a particularly dense concentration of early Christian architecture in Georgia. Bolnisi Sioni, one of the oldest churches in the country, is not far away. Fields and vineyards lie around, the relief is gentle and the roads are unpaved.
Modest clothing is expected, with shoulders and knees covered. The site remains part of the everyday life of the area, and that deserves respect.
