History
Boulevard in Batumi it has a century-old history, the foundation was built in 1881. The whole construction was started by a representative of the local government – Smekalov, and a famous gardener and landscape designer from Prussia – Ressler took over the execution. French garden designer Michael Dalfons will continue his work, and he has completed the planned work on the arrangement of the alley. Locals nicknamed the Frenchman "the good genius of the coast of Batumi".
The contribution to the expansion and improvement of the boulevard was made by the famous Gordezian in France. In 1917, he was appointed manager of the boulevard, park and nearby nursery. He remained in office until 1933. All these years he has been engaged in the restoration of plantings in the park and along the boulevard.
In 2009, after increasing the area of the boulevard to the size that we can see today, the alley became known as "New Boulevard". A new project was created by a Spanish architect.
