The State Museum of Ilya Chavchavadze in Saguramo includes the house of Ilya Chavchavadze himself, utility rooms, a picturesque park and a garden with magnificent vineyards. Here you can see Ilya's personal belongings, furniture, paintings, photographs, manuscripts, documents and other memorial items.

The complex of the house-museum includes the house of the Georgian writer, public and political figure, the "uncrowned King of Georgia" Ilya Chavchavadze (1837-1907), as well as utility rooms (bailiff's wine cellar), a park and a garden with a vineyard.
Ilya built this beautiful complex on the estate of his wife, Olga Guramishvili, in 1895. The museum was founded in 1951.
The first floor is dedicated to the life and work of Ilya Chavchavadze, the writer's relatives, the Georgian society of the nineteenth century, unique material reflecting the celebration in honor of Ilya in Saguramo – "Iliaoba".
On the second and third floors there is a dining room, Ilya's office, a bedroom, etc., where memorial items of the writer and his wife, decorative and household utensils, furniture of European and local production, weapons and chain mail of the Guramishvili family, manuscripts of the writer, copies of newspapers published on his initiative – "Iveria", "Sakartvelos moambe" (Bulletin of Georgia) and others, examples of fine art works by L. Gudiashvili, U. Japaridze, Yakov Nikoladze; canvases by French artists Granier "Reception of Jacques de Moliv Templar Order" and Vernet "Mazeppa surrounded by wolves", etc.
