Since ancient times, the history of Georgia and Armenia go hand in hand, which is one of the reasons for the appearance and quite peaceful existence of Armenian churches on Georgian soil. One of these buildings is located in the village of Moliti in Samtskhe Javakheti.

This building will probably be of interest only to those who are deeply immersed in the history of architecture of religious buildings in the Caucasus, and to tourists who sincerely study the history of religion. The building of the Armenian church in the village of Moliti can be classified as modern - it was built in the very early 20th century, as evidenced by the tablet with the inscription of 1905.

You can find it immediately above the entrance to the church, which is made in the form of an arch. Once inside you can take your time examining everything - the hall is well lit during the day because of the several large windows on the east, south and north facades. No special refinement in the decoration of the church from the outside was noticed: gray basalt hewn stone, sharpened cobblestones.

Everything is rather modest, but tastefully and "for ages". The roof of the Armenian church in Moliti is covered with slate. There is nothing unusual inside as well - the ceiling is lined with wood, the altar is built in Gregorian style. One could say it is a working environment in which it is easier to give sincere prayer without embarrassing one's eyes with luxuries.

How to get there

In summer, you can leave from Akhalkalaki and Bakuriani. In winter, only Akhalkalaki remains, as the Bakuriani road is closed until late spring for traffic. Despite the fact that some guides talk about "reliable and comfortable dirt road" to Moliti, caution should be exercised. Still, it is worth noting that the best time of year to visit Moliti is late spring and summer.

You will be able to see not only the architectural sights of Georgia. Nature is probably one of the national treasures of Georgia. In summer it wakes up and appears to us in all its glory. For inhabitants of big cities, accustomed to the dust and exhausts of cars, it is both additional emotions and clean air.

    Посетил церковь в Молити с семьёй этой весной. Очень впечатлила арочная конструкция над входом и серый базальтовый камень. Внутреннее убранство скромное, но есть в этом особая благодать. Дорога к церкви летом действительно живописна, вокруг чистый воздух и прекрасные виды. Жаль, что зимой доступ только через Ахалкалаки, надо учитывать при планировании поездки.

Одна из таких построек расположена в Самцхе Джавахети, в селе Молити. Из статьи понятно , что церковь можно посетить в летнее время. Она может и лучше для верующих, уединения тишина не мало важно в таких местах.

    Это действительно только для верующих людей, наверное, будет интересно посетить. Так-то церковь совсем невзрачная с точки зрения архитектуры. А если смотреть по фотографии, то создаётся впечатление, что она вообще заброшена. Дверь какая-то непонятная, и всё вокруг травой заросло, словно туда даже никто не ходит.

    Такая лаконичная церковь. В своём внешнем виде. Даже на фото видно как ровно камень к камушку выложены стены. Всё таки такие старинные постройки, особенно духовные отражают всю суть Грузии. Отдых в Грузии это не только снега и курорты или активные виды спорта. Отдых в грузии это в том числе и великое множество духовных мест, которые верующие люди с удовольствием посещают.

Если вы просто поедите туда, и не почитаете даже основные факты о месте, вы не поймёте вообще зачем туда приехали. Перед посещением, нужно углубиться в историю и религию самим, и попросить гида рассказать более подробно.

      Я очень спокойно и даже равнодушно отношусь к подобным достопримечательностям, и поэтому никогда их не посещаю в других городах, где отдыхаю или провожу время! Просто не интересно и все, это не значит что я как-то плохо отношусь к религии, просто считаю что просто так проводить экскурсии по подобным местам, это лишь бизнес.
