The Church of the Holy Spirit is very young, compared to other religious buildings in the city of Batumi. It was built around the 90s of the last century, and officially consecrated in 2000. Bishop Giuseppe Pasotto consecrated the church.

The building was designed according to the drawings of architects Giorgi Bagashvili and Oleg Pataridze. The church attracts the attention of many tourists because of its unusual architecture for the Orthodox Church.

Instead of large golden domes, a cast cross is located on the top of the structure. The temple itself has a rounded shape, increasing in height at the entrance and ending with two points on the crown. The Church of the Holy Spirit descends into the number of the administration of the Caucasus.

    The always welcoming doors of this church invite you inside. We decided to go in, familiarized ourselves with the interior, prayed and took some pictures. Deacon Tamas suddenly appeared and we got to know each other. It turned out that he had studied in the Catholic Church in Karaganda. We managed to talk to him and he left a pleasant impression as a very kind person.

    The only Catholic church building I encountered in Georgia provided a pleasant opportunity to attend and participate in the Holy Mass. It was a profound experience to be abroad in a small church, which, despite its size, brought much joy due to the combined presence of Georgian believers and compatriots who filled it greatly, as well as participation in the ceremony conducted by a priest from Poland who serves there.
