The Chkaduashi Museum is a village collection where the display extends into both the house and the yard. Inside are Mingrelian household objects, tools, dishes and things brought in by the residents. The yard is part of the visit, so daylight and dry weather make more sense.
The museum is in Chkhoria, a village in the Tsalenjikha municipality, on the plain west of the district centre. Around it are orchards, fields and local roads. Tsalenjikha and Zugdidi are both less than half an hour away.
The collection is intimate and half an hour is enough. The first half of the day is the easier time, and it is better to arrange the visit through the village in advance. Combine the trip with Tsalenjikha.
Tips
- Come in dry weather, part of the display is in the yard
- Arrange the visit through the village in advance
- Combine the trip with the church in Tsalenjikha
How to get there
- West from Tsalenjikha along the local road, about twenty minutes by car
- Roughly half an hour from Zugdidi via Tsalenjikha
