The Jirkiani sakdari stands in the Telavi Municipality area, away from inhabited villages. In eastern Georgia the word sakdari denotes a village church, and it often attaches to a building together with a local name.
The nearest marked site, the Saint Nino church in Kisiskhevi, is about a kilometre and a half away. The area lies between Telavi and the Alazani plain, among vineyards. Alaverdi monastery and the old capital of Kakheti are not far away.
Modest clothing is expected, with shoulders and knees covered. The site remains part of the everyday life of the area, and that deserves respect.
