  • Description

Tbilisi State Armenian Drama Theater named after Petros Adamyan is a famous and important cultural center with a rich history and great significance both for the Armenian community and for the cultural life of Georgia as a whole. Founded in 1856 in Tiflis (present-day Tbilisi) thanks to the support of the Armenian community, the theater quickly became one of the leading cultural institutions in the region, attracting talented Armenian professional actors.

Since the beginning of the 2010s, unfortunately, performances in the theater building itself have been suspended due to its disrepair. However, despite this, the theater group continues to work actively, conducting touring performances in various theaters in Georgia and Armenia. This allows the theater to maintain its activities and continue to delight the public with its art.

Currently, work is underway to restore the theater building. This process is important not only for the restoration of the historical structure, but also for the preservation of the cultural heritage associated with the Armenian dramatic tradition in Tbilisi.

The Tbilisi State Armenian Drama Theater named after Petros Adamyan continues to be a living symbol of cultural diversity and cooperation, playing an important role in the cultural life of Georgia and maintaining the spirit of theatrical art among the Armenian population.

Только один армянский театр, который расположен за пределами территории Армении, это он и есть.
