I am still shocked by what happened. I wanted to book a month-long stay through Airbnb and, out of respect, I messaged the owner, Aleksandre, for his approval before proceeding. To my surprise, he saw my message but didn’t reply. Later, I noticed he blocked the room's availability, preventing me from booking. There was no reason for this, and it felt like a deliberate act of disrespect. Aleksandre has over 20 rooms in three different hotels, so he could have offered me another option, yet he chose to stop me from booking any of his properties. I did nothing to warrant such hostility. I usually have great relationships with Airbnb hosts and receive positive reviews. As a digital nomad who has traveled through Latin America, Europe, and Asia, this is the first time I've encountered such immature behavior from a host. If anyone else has faced a similar situation, please reach out to your booking platform. It seems Aleksandre may have been doing this for a while. If enough people report him, platforms like Airbnb and Booking might take action. I contacted Airbnb, and they assured me they take this matter seriously. After this experience, I’ve decided to cancel my trip to Tbilisi.
