In the very heart of Karelia is the Karelian Museum of Local Lore. It was opened in 1973 and is located at Al. st. Kazbegi, no. 86, in the city of Kareli. Presents a historical collection, including archaeological finds from local monuments of the Bronze and Iron Ages. Among the exhibits are flint products, weapons, household items, iron swords, bronze buckles, spearheads, jewelry, coins, and ceramics samples. In addition, here you can see household items from the 19th century, documents and photographs of that time. Open daily except Mondays from 10:00 to 18:00. Admission is free for all visitors, with the exception of persons with exemptions: children under 6 years of age, employees of Georgian and foreign museums, ICOM members (with an ID), people with disabilities (with an ID) and refugees.

    Краеведческий музей в Грузии оказался настоящим открытием для меня. Я с удивлением обнаружил богатство истории этой замечательной страны. Экспозиции музея привлекли меня своим разнообразием: от древних артефактов до современных интерпретаций исторических событий. Особенно запомнилась коллекция древних оружий и доспехов, позволившая представить себя на месте великих воинов прошлого.
