The church of John the Baptist stands in Gandzani village in Ninotsminda Municipality and is listed in the national category. Sources date the church to the 13th century.
It is a small hall building laid of well worked stones of varying shape, reddish in tone. The facades are entirely plain and undecorated, and the whole impression rests on the colour and the quality of the masonry.
The entrance is on the south side and two windows, on the south and east, give the light. The roof is now of concrete: the stone slabs that originally covered the church have not survived, and that is a noticeable loss for a monument of this rank.
