The church is dedicated to St. George. The name of the village Khideshlebi is linked to the word khidi, a bridge: in the mountains such names usually belonged to places where a river or a gorge was crossed.
The village lies in the north of Oni municipality, away from the main Rioni valley. Its nearest neighbour, the church of Sakao with the same dedication, stands about five kilometres off, and there are no other shrines close by. Oni is about nine kilometres away, Ambrolauri twenty six.
The place is remote and little visited, and the road runs up a side gorge. The church is a village one, services are not held every day, yet it can be seen from outside. Dress modestly, keep quiet inside; between seasons the unpaved stretches soften. Racha is a land of narrow roads, and extra time in the mountains never hurts.
