  • Description

Bodorna Church, located in the Mtskheta-Mtianeti region, in the Dusheti municipality of Georgia, is an architectural masterpiece of the 15th century. Its majestic walls keep a rich history, starting with restoration in 1417, carried out by the son of the local Aragvi eristav and minister of economy of the royal court. Over time, a chapel was added to the church, and then extensive restoration was carried out in 1912, returning it to its former majestic appearance.

This is a “kupelhale” type building, which adds to its uniqueness among other temples. Its architectural details are surprising: the pointed outline of the entrance, brickwork with carved crosses, a semicircular apse and high windows framed by semicircular arches. The interior of the church, plastered and clean, attracts attention with its simplicity and grandeur.

Visitors can enjoy not only the architecture, but also the atmosphere of peace and prayer that envelops this holy place. Bodorn Church is not just a historical landmark, but also a place where every stone carries many stories and spiritual depth. We invite you to take this journey into the past and feel the greatness of time and faith.
