The Alaverdi church stands on a mountain top about two and a half kilometres north of Tskere village in Dusheti Municipality. The hall is very small, under four metres to a side, laid of rubble set dry without mortar, and on the north the building is partly embedded in the rock massif.
The sanctuary here is rectangular and there is no apse at all. On the east facade the window is narrow outside and widens sharply towards the interior, its base stepping down. Notably, this window is not cut on the centre line as usual but shifted towards the southern part of the wall.
The doorway on the south facade is rectangular and set fairly high above the ground, about seventy centimetres up. A plank door is fitted into it and now hangs on a single hinge. Both the doorway and the window are covered by a flat stone architrave slab. The south wall survives to a little over two metres in height and is almost a metre thick.
