The church is dedicated to Saint George. This is the most frequent dedication of Georgian churches, and in the border villages of the eastern region it appears as often as on the upland.
Lemshveniera lies at the eastern edge of Kvemo Kartli, by the Gardabani plain, not far from the state border. There are no neighbouring villages with shrines of their own close by: the nearest churches are tens of kilometres away, so the visit is planned on its own.
The place is close to the border, and before setting out it is worth finding out the state of the access roads and the order of travel. In the church itself the usual rules apply: covered shoulders and knees, quiet, and a headscarf for women.
