The church stands by the old cemetery of the Didi Toneti site: the residents left this mountain settlement, while the graveyard and its church remained. A living village of the same name lies further east in Kvemo Kartli, a different place.
High treeless slopes on the border of the Tsalka and Borjomi areas lie all around. Dirt roads lead here, and the nearest inhabited villages are kilometres away.
The place is quiet and little visited; behave with restraint at the cemetery. Plan the trip with time to spare: the district centre is far.
