Babaneuri National Park is a pearl of nature, embodying a unique combination of diverse ecosystems. Spread over the territory of the municipality of Akhmeta, in the villages of Babaneuri and Arhigo, this paradise is located at the foot of the majestic Caucasus ridge, along the wet banks of the picturesque Alazani River. The altitudes here range from 439 to 985 meters above sea level, creating ideal conditions for a variety of life forms.
Being part of the administration of the protected areas of Batsara-Babaneyuri, the area of this natural refuge of majestic species is 862.1 hectares. The national park was founded in 1950 in order to ensure the preservation of tertiary species of relict hornbeam deciduous azat - a unique massif included in the Red List of Georgia. Here you will find hornbeam foliage growing both in isolated groves and in the company of hornbeam and hornbeam. Among the green alleys, Georgian oak, meadow maple and many other plants will stand out. The undergrowth creates picturesque pictures with hawthorn, privet, wildflower, medlar and rosehip. The height of the azat in the reserve reaches 20-30 meters, and the diameter of the trees can reach 90 centimeters.

Мое путешествие в Национальный парк Бабанеури стало настоящим открытием для меня. Основанный еще в 1950 году, этот парк олицетворяет собой уникальные природные богатства Грузии. Третичные породы реликтового грабового лиственного азата поразили меня своей красотой и значимостью. Прогуливаясь среди рощ и лесных массивов, я ощущала себя частью древнего мира, полного загадок и тайн.
Смешение грабового лиственного азата с грузинским дубом, кленом и другими видами растительности создает в парке неповторимую атмосферу. Разнообразие растений и животных делает каждый уголок парка уникальным и интересным для исследования. Встречи с множеством видов птиц и млекопитающих добавили этому месту особое очарование.
Но самое впечатляющее в Национальном парке Бабанеури — это не только его природная красота, но и его значение для сохранения биоразнообразия. Этот парк является домом для многих видов редких и уязвимых животных и растений, что подчеркивает важность его сохранения и защиты.
