The Nazarlebi sanctuary is marked in open steppe in the southeast of Kakheti, beside the traces of an ancient settlement. There is no Christian building here: the site reads from a platform and the remains of earthworks.
The area belongs to Dedoplistskaro Municipality, the driest part of Kakheti, where the way to Vashlovani national park begins. There is steppe here, clay bluffs and almost no trees. The nearest villages are scattered tens of kilometres apart.
Modest clothing and quiet behaviour are expected. The site remains part of the everyday life of the area, and that deserves respect.
