The name of the church has two elements: the Chianchveltgori locality and the dedication to Saint Kvirike. Sakdari here means a village church, and Kvirike is the Georgian name of the martyr Kirikos, venerated in Kakheti together with his mother, Saint Ioulitta.
The church stands on a rise above Sioni, a village in the western part of the Akhmeta municipality, away from the main Kakhetian routes. From here it is about eleven kilometres to Akhmeta, and considerably further to Telavi, more than thirty.
No regular services are held here and the site can be approached at any time. The climb up the rise is short but unpaved, and turns to mud after rain. The place is quiet and little visited, so the visit needs neither queuing nor hurry.
