  • Description

The museum, founded in 1998, is a real storehouse of historical and ethnographic wealth. We have over 1,402 unique items reflecting the culture and traditions of the 19th century and beyond.

The museum houses a variety of ethnographic material, including family pottery and copperware, a loom, craft tools, weapons, numismatic treasures and heraldic designs from 1870 to the present. We also have valuable paintings, embroideries and documentary materials related to the history of the village of Kviahidzeebi and the Maret Gorge, dating from the 1900s to the 1980s of the 20th century.

We invite you to visit the museum every day from 10:00 to 18:00, and what’s especially nice is that admission is absolutely free. We also provide free entry for children under 6 years of age, staff of Georgian and foreign museums, ICOM members (presenting a card with ID), people with disabilities (with a valid ID) and refugees.

We actively participate in the cultural life of the region, organizing exhibitions such as “Numismatic Material in the Museum” and educational programs such as “Cultural Tourism and Museum” to bring the rich cultural heritage of this land closer to our visitors.

Join us and take a fascinating journey into the past and culture of the village of Kviahidzeebi at the Ethnographic Museum!
