Batumi Boulevard
The Boulevard is the main street of Batumi, even though no cars drive along it. Palm alleys and a cycle path run for several kilometres beside the pebble beach, with a white colonnade, sculptures and small squares in between. The Ferris wheel stands next to the old lighthouse, and the Alphabet Tower rises nearby with the letters of the Georgian alphabet spiralling around it. Closer to the port, the steel figures of Ali and Nino, inspired by the novel by Kurban Said, slowly move towards each other and pass through one another. The gallery shows the boulevard by day, at sunset and in the evening lights, the summer beach below the tower and street scenes like a 3D dragon painted on the paving.
