The Koba Kakhadze House Museum is a collection the owner has set up in his own house. Museums like this grow around a single interest and show what one person thought worth keeping: household objects, tools, documents, works. The owner shows and explains everything himself, so the visit turns out personal.
The house stands in Naruja, a village in the Ozurgeti municipality, on the plain between Ozurgeti and the coast. Around it are tea plantations, orchards and the roads towards Ureki. The sea is less than half an hour away.
The house is small and half an hour is enough. A phone number and a social media page are listed, and the visit is worth arranging in advance. Combine the trip with the drive to the sea.
Tips
- Call ahead, the museum works by arrangement
- Combine the trip with Ureki, the magnetic beaches are close
- Allow time for conversation, here it is part of the visit
How to get there
- From Ozurgeti along the road towards Naruja, about fifteen minutes by car
- Roughly an hour from Batumi via Kobuleti and Ozurgeti
