Trinity of Georgian judoists at the head of the world ranking
At the end of the European Championship, the International Judo Federation (IJF) has published a fresh rating. In it, Georgian judoists Tato Grigalashvili (-81 kg), Ilya Sulamanidze (-100 kg) and Luka Maisuradze (-90 kg) became leaders in their weight categories. Immediately after the end of the competition in Montpellier, France, where the Georgian national team won four silver medals, the rating was updated.
Medals perpetuated the achievements of Lasha Bekauri (90 kg), Ilya Sulamanidze (100 kg), Guram Tushishvili (+100 kg) and Tato Grigalashvili (-81 kg). In individual ratings: Tato Grigalashvili has 8,415 points, Ilya Sulamanidze has 7,308, Luka Maisuradze has 6,856. The leader of the Olympic Games, Lasha Bekauri (-90 kg), strengthens the 11th position with 5,750 points. Lasha Margvelashvili (-66 kg) takes 21st place with 4,606 points, becoming the second in points scored in her weight category.
In the women's ranking among Georgian athletes, Eter Liparteliani has the best result (3,920 points), who ranks eighth in her weight category up to 57 kg. A worthy representation of Georgian judo on the world stage!
