The Georgian national team is preparing for qualification matches for Euro 2024: coach's view
The Georgian national team looks at the upcoming matches of the European Football Championship with the teams of Scotland and Spain as an opportunity to prepare for the key match of the playoffs of the League of Nations against the national team of Kazakhstan in March next year, the head coach of the Georgian team, Willy Sagnol, shared his opinion at a press conference.
In November, the national team has two qualifying matches for Euro 2024: on November 16 against Scotland in Tbilisi and on November 19 away against Spain in Valladolid.
According to the French coach, the result in the match with Scotland in Tbilisi is not as important as the preparation for the upcoming playoffs. The Georgian national team will play for Euro 2024 in March 2024 in the semi-finals of the UEFA Nations League, as it has lost the chances of direct qualifications.
Despite the fact that the Georgian team occupies the penultimate place in Group A, the coach expressed optimism, claiming that the atmosphere in the team is good. The last success over the Cyprus team with a score of 4:0 gives the team confidence.
The coach also praised an outstanding season for one of the leaders of the team, Khvichi Kvaratskhelia, and expressed confidence in his return to excellent form.
The Georgian national team is preparing for the confrontation, hoping for successful performances and prospects in the upcoming 2024 European Championship in Germany.
