Georgian fencers continue to surprise: Two medals at the World Cup in South Korea
At this stage of the Wheelchair Fencing World Cup, held in Busan, South Korea, the Georgian women's national team demonstrated brilliant results, winning silver and bronze medals in sabre competitions.
The competitions, which took place from August 30 to September 5, brought together more than 300 athletes from 27 countries of the world. This stage of the World Cup and the Wheelchair Fencing World Youth Championship attached special importance, as participants could earn qualification points for the upcoming Paralympic Games in Paris 2024.
Georgian fencers took part in two disciplines: rapier and sabre, and impressed with their performance. Nina Tibilashvili and Irma Khetsuriani won medals in individual competitions.
Nina Tibilashvili demonstrated outstanding form, winning a silver medal. Her fight in the semifinals with Italian Andrea Mogo was tense, but in the end she lost with a score of 7:15.
Irma Hetsuriani, on the other hand, won bronze, showing a confident performance on the sabre.
Thus, the Georgian wheelchair fencing team continues to delight with its achievements, and now it has three medals in its piggy bank at this stage of the World Cup.
