Georgian judoists are ready to go to the Masters tournament in Budapest

The strongest composition of the Georgian national judo team is preparing to participate in the prestigious Masters tournament in Budapest. An impressive team, with the exception of the only loss – the 2023 world champion Luka Maisuradze, will represent the country at this significant event. After his momentous triumph, Luka Maisuradze has not yet taken part in the competition, which was a disappointment for fans.

The Georgian team currently has 17 outstanding judoists – 15 young athletes and 2 talented girls. The tournament will be attended by eminent male and female judoists who are ready to conquer Budapest with their unsurpassed abilities.

List of male judokas representing Georgia at the tournament:

- Weight category -60 kg: Giorgi Sardalashvili, Luhum Chkhvimiani and Temur Nozadze.

- Weight category -66 kg: Vazha Margvelashvili.

- Weight category -73 kg: Lasha Shavdatuashvili and Georgy Terashvili.

- Weight category -81 kg: Tato Grigalashvili.

- Weight category -90 kg: Lasha Bekauri and Beka Gviniashvili.

- Weight category -100 kg: Ilya Sulamanidze, Varlam Liparteliani and Onise Saneblidze.

- Weight category +100 kg: Guram Tushishvili, Gela Zaalishvili and Saba Inaneishvili.

The women's national team of Georgia is represented by two outstanding judoists:

- Weight category -57 kg: Eter Liparteliani.

- Weight category +78 kg: Sofia Armenishvili.

The Masters Tournament will be held from August 4-6 in Budapest and will bring together 425 judoists from 59 different countries at its arena. This event promises to be a real judo holiday and a great opportunity for Georgian athletes to show their level and fight for well-deserved victories.
