The Georgian national team was forced to enter the court without several key players, including their captain Tornike Shengelia, Duda Sanadze, Mikhail Berishvili and Georgi Tsintsadze, who were forced to miss the match due to injuries.

The first half of the confrontation ended with the confident leadership of the Australian team with a score of 54:27.

The second half started more cheerfully for the Georgian national team, which won it with a score of 30:25. But the efforts of the Georgian basketball players were not enough to catch up with their rivals. In the final quarter, the Australians again had the advantage, the score was 17:21.

The World Cup will last until September 10 and will include a total of 92 matches. Competitions are held in three countries: Japan, the Philippines and Indonesia. The teams are divided into eight groups containing four teams each. The top two teams from each group will advance to the next stage.
