Georgia is preparing to soften legislation for construction companies
In order to simplify the process of submitting protocols of construction stages, owners of construction permits will no longer pay fines for failure to submit protocols on time until the end of 2025. These changes in the legislation were considered at a meeting of deputies on October 16.
Members of the majority took the initiative to make changes, noting that more than sixty organizations that did not provide protocols of construction stages have already been fined. In accordance with the current law, fines for violation of licensing conditions range from 4 thousand lari to 15 thousand lari, depending on the class of the building or structure. At the moment, the total amount of fines has exceeded 850 thousand lari.
The authors of the amendments note that the process of submitting protocols of construction stages remains complicated and unclear for organizations that have received a construction permit. This is due to the difficulties they face in fulfilling their obligations. If the protocols are not provided or are not provided on time, the state supervisory authority draws up an inspection report and imposes a fine on the violator.
These changes in legislation will help simplify the construction process and reduce the financial burden on companies. Owners of building permits will be able to focus on the implementation of projects without worrying about penalties for failure to provide protocols. This is an important step in the development of the construction industry in Georgia.
