The museum is devoted to Anton Purtseladze, a nineteenth century writer and publicist who worked in the Georgian press of his time. The collection holds books, documents, photographs and objects connected with his life and circle. Village museums like this preserve both a literary biography and the memory of the village itself.
The museum stands in Arbo, a village in the Gori municipality, on the plain north of the Mtkvari. The same village holds a second memorial collection devoted to another name; they are separate places. Around it are fields, orchards and local roads.
The collection is intimate and half an hour is enough. The first half of the day is the easier time, and it is better to arrange the visit through the village in advance. Combine the trip with Gori and Uplistsikhe.
Tips
- Check in the village which of the two collections you need

- Come in the first half of the day
How to get there
- North from Gori along the local road, about twenty minutes by car
