The Kujoshvili Family House Museum is a small family collection in the Gori area, set up in an ordinary village house. Museums like this grow out of a household archive: photographs, documents, utensils and things handed down within the family. There is no ready made tourist script here, but there is a chance to see the private memory of one family.
The point lies in the northern part of the Gori municipality, off the main highway, among the villages of Shida Kartli. Around it are foothills, orchards and ordinary village buildings. Gori is the nearest landmark, about half an hour of driving away.
The house is small, half an hour is enough for the visit and the drive will take longer. The first half of the day is the easier time to come, and it is better to arrange the visit through the village in advance. It makes sense to combine the trip with a wider Shida Kartli route.
Tips
- Ask for directions in the village, navigation is imprecise here
- Fit the visit into a wider Shida Kartli trip, it is far to come on its own
- Do not count on facilities, there may be no cafe or toilet nearby
How to get there
- North from Gori along the local road, about half an hour by car
- Public transport in this direction is sparse, a car or taxi is easier
