Georgia Expects 4,000 Tonnes of Almonds and 5,000 Tonnes of Walnuts This Year
According to the association's data cited by BMG, commercial orchards in Georgia produced about 3,000 tonnes of almonds and 3,500 tonnes of walnuts last year. This year the country expects 4,000 tonnes of in-shell almonds and 5,000 tonnes of walnuts.
A member of the association's supervisory board expects almond output to grow by roughly 70% next year, which is a forecast. The growth is linked to properly established orchards reaching their productive phase and to farmers gaining experience.
