Monument of XII century in Georgia: Tamari Church in Amamlo. The architecture of the ancient temple.
Tamari Church is a historical monument on the territory of Georgia in the village of Amamlo. The building is constructed of a local grade of raw, pinkish-red stone. There are three windows facing west, south and east. Also, there is a cemetery next to the church, where you can see the figure of a broken ram. The church is the personification of local building traditions.
The sights of Georgia are monuments of the country's culture, its architectural and construction traditions. One such example is the Tamari Church in Amamlo, a village located in the Kvemo Kartli region of the municipality of Dmanisi.

Architecture
The walls of the church are built of rough stone, only hewn stone is used as a building material in the corners and in the cornice. The building is lined with local pinkish-red and green stones.
Two stones on which inscriptions were carved, previously located on top of the western window, were transferred to the State Museum of the Country - one of the most interesting places in Georgia.
The solutions of the facades are simple at first glance, the walls are made of uneven stones, because of this they look a little careless. The church itself is covered with tin, the interior is plastered.
Externally, the entrance to the building is rectilinear, and from the inside it is arched. The direct, long entrance is from the south.
The Golgotha cross embedded in the outlined connected semicircle is depicted on a light colored stone with sufficiently deep grooves. Inside, the Tamari Church consists of a hall that ends with a semicircular apse to the east. Rather rough profiled imposts serve as a support for the triumphal arch. Windows overlook the western, eastern and southern walls of the building.
Among the tombstones of the old cemetery located next to the church, a stone in the shape of a stylized ram was found. Both the church and the cemetery are located in the fence.
Tamari Church in Amamlo is a monument that combines the traditions of the country and has not lost its beauty over the years, undoubtedly deserves the title - the most beautiful places in Georgia.
