Good local history museums in Georgia. Ahmet Local History Museum.
In the city of Kakheti archaeological excavations have been conducted for quite a long time. The exhibits found there are now on display in the Akhmeta Museum of Regional History. There are household items, ethnographic materials, ancient utensils, clothes, carpets and accessories. We definitely recommend visiting this place.
Address: Akhmeta district, Kvemo Alvani village
The museum is located in the building of the House of Culture. There are materials found during archeological excavations in Kakheti and also randomly found objects (from the late Bronze Age to the Middle Ages), household items characteristic for one of the most interesting and unique regions of Eastern Georgia - Tusheti, as well as ethnographic materials.
Samples of applied art: carpets and curtains, samples of clothes and accessories from Tusheti. Part of the museum's funds is redistributed to the following museums located in the villages: Omalo village (Keselo fortress, Ethnographic Museum), Kvareltskali village (Soldier's House), Zemo Alvani village (Shepherd Museum), Kvemo Alvani village (History Museum) and Magrani village in Basilica and Alaverdi type churches.
